BIFF instructions

These instructions were intercepted earlier this morning: You don't want to be raising the bar too high. Remember, you've got several hours to lay bait and deluge the board with retarded responses to the various rebukes and people who think you are actually arguing with them. It's good to open with an obvious and pithy non sequitor with an annoying subject line, just to gather the low hanging fruit. From there, you can lay a few oblique and cryptic coilers laced with apparent sarcasm as responses to the first wave, which others are more likely to read and respond to. You can also bank on a couple of superstars to go for the cheap recs and post eloquent and entertaining flames if they detect the opportunity. This will breathe life into your thread, as others try their h

However, the mp3 file I tried was seriously borked (momma.momma.momma.mp3). Googled your act and found this: http://www.betarecords.com/openframeset.php?content=/joey.fiasco Although the same file is borked here, there is a lot more music that isn't. You should get that file off your site(s). Is that you with the black stratocaster? Long haired smelly!!! Somehow I pictured a more scholarly visage, or a P.J. O'Rourke hipster-in-a-suit kind of thing. The real story here is that Nettwerk is essentially a *management* company. They realize that the RIAA Mafia are hurting their artists and victimizing their fans. This is just the beginning of what I expect will blossom into full blown war between managers and labels. Tables have turned dramatically in favour of managers with the rise of the Internet. It is now cheap and easy to record and distribute your own tunes, so who needs the rat bastards anymore? << To celebrate, I'll be at a show Saturday, buying CDs and t-shirts from the musicians. Recs: 21 A Canadian record label pissed with the antics of the marauding Mob and U.S. justice system backed jackboot RIAA Gestapo has intervened on behalf of another victimized American family. When the label learned that one of their artists was named in the suit, that was it: << "The current actions of the RIAA are not in my artists' best interests," said Nettwerk chief executive Terry McBride in a statement. "Litigation is not 'artist development'. Litigation is a deterrent to creativity and passion and it is hurting the business I love.">> Here's the Register article: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/01/27/nettwerk_sues_riaa/ And the press release is on this page: http://www.p2pnet.net/story/7746 UNHHH! Isle of Misfit Toys

Message ID: 337599 Posted By: mitmosnar Posted On: 2006-01-17 13:39:00 Subject: Isle of Misfit Toys Recs: 19 I bequeath my thatch roof hut, divining stick, coconut brandy snifter, herb garden and Li'l Buddy hat to stats. To manyhats I leave my abacus and smoke signalling blanket. To freecode I leave my blowgun, cross-bow, hemlock tincture and map of the Island. By the time you read this, I will have cast off in my crude catamaran fashioned out of driftwood and reeds. If I reach land, I'll forward the coordinates to Bob Mims. Mister Softee comes to YSCOX!

Guess there isn't much action on the MSFT board, so we are treated to a cameo appearance by the underassistant weekend softee towel boy, who is apparently working his way through Trolling for Tots 101: Chapter 1: Practice Exercises. He is only five responses away from earning a Free X-Box (complimentary fire extinguisher included) and the coveted Tard Badge for his Teen TardForce uniform! 20 more responses and he gets an MSCE and an interview at McDonald's. ------------------------------------------------------------ The text of this Yahoo Message Board post has been licensed for copying and distribution by the Yahoo Message Board user "mitmosnar" under the following license: License:  CC Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike v2.0 -------------------------

On humor

Message ID: 335842 Posted By: mitmosnar Posted On: 2006-01-12 11:38:00 Subject: On Humor Recs: 26 Let me pose a question: Is there really anything funny about the George Bush "Brazilian" joke? Sure, we all laughed at it. Now, let me extrapolate. There is really *nothing funny* at all about GWB. He is responsible for the worst kind of mayhem imaginable. Death from the skies. Families torn to shreds. Dead children. I could go on, but hopefully you get the picture. Is there really anything funny about this court case? Darl et al are trying to *steal* the hard work of hundreds of people who sacrificed their time for the good of us all. Yet, we revel in making light of Darl, just as we revel in making light of Bush. So, no there is nothing funny about child molestation, yet otherwise sane, ethical people make jokes about it. Why? Likely for the *same reasons* they make jokes about Bush or Darl, neither of them actually funny in the least. It is self se

Biff, old man, I fear it's off to the glue factory with you. When you exhume ancient, pulverized nags like this latest hoary remnant, you've actually entered the realm of self parody. Maybe you're so numb you needed a biffslapping just to feel *something*. I can't imagine why else you would trot out such an indefensible aspect of the whole fiasco. At any rate, watching you return from the well with yet another bucket of dust today, I had a tiny epiphany concerning you: You're played. Burnt out. You've 'jumped the shark'. I couldn't muster an iota of... anything wading through your tired routine. There was a time you were fun to mock, but how do you parody something that's a joke already? Hell, you've had your threads hijacked by the Teen Tardforce repeatedly, and today even th

I'm sure he's used to it, which explains his painful desperation. Ever watch someone flail wildly at a tiny, annoying insect? That is the image invoked by people who waste their time replying to such deadly intellectual ordinances as 'STFU' or 'you suck a lot o cock' or the old 'people on this board $observationCalculatedToAnnoy' ploy. While it is tempting to humiliate junior with superior flames, it is simply a *waste of good material* (Bob, this means you). Anything witty enough to entertain will just *fly right over his head* anyhow. My unsolicited advice? *Never* respond directly to our knee pant sporting little swaddling. Ever. Never address them directly. If you *must* say someth
