Turns out that Forbes, sore from being routinely exposed as an irrelevant circle jerk for the tassled loafer set, is going after blogs in next week's Lyons penned Attack of the Blogs cover story. http://hammeroftruth.com/2005/10/28/forbes-goes-after-bloggers-in-cover-article/ Expect Droolbucket Dan to indulge in his usual masturbation addled ruminating as he attempts to heap scorn on people who are demonstrably better 'journalists' than he could ever hope to be in their spare time. ------------------------------------------------------------ The text of this Yahoo Message Board post has been licensed for copying and distribution by the Yahoo Message Board user "mitmosnar" under the following license: License:  CC Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike v2.0 -----------------------------------------------------------

A mutated and highly contagious bird flu virus has hit Seattle, Washington. People have started getting sick by the thousands. What do you do?>> Stay in Toronto and thank God I won't have teenagers with automatic weapons keeping 'order'. Your scenario is *retarded* anyhow: "People have started getting sick by the thousands"??? Maybe you ought to reread the WHO site, genius. I was at ground zero installing software in the very hospital where SARS broke out in Toronto. I was quarantined, etc. At no time was it necessary to call in the army. You might as well of asked how one would deal with GIANT ANTS eating the citizens of Seattle, as that is as plausible as your scenario. Why not just give George *complete control* so you can hide under the covers? ---------------------

Having witnessed the soul crushing meat grinder destroying some of the finest talent you will never hear for over half of my life, I can safely say that I have a serious hate-on for the industry, which treats artists like a neccessary evil, and also for people who undervalue music itself. For example, a guy I play with has a CD for sale on his site. He also offered mp3s of the tunes. After several months, we had sold around 20 CDs on the site, meanwhile there had been over *10,000* downloads of the tunes. After some hand wringing, he decided to take the mp3s down, considering that the CD sales weren't even covering the cost of keeping the site. After doing so, we got a flood of email from people irate at us for taking the free music down, yet almost none of them would fork over the ten measly bucks t

It's a fine companion to 'The Problem With Music' by the one and only Steve Albini (see http://www.negativland.com/albini.html ) in which the world's best recording engineer does a bit of financial analysis worthy of this board at its finest, and finishes up like this: ---->8-------->8-------->8-------->8-------->8-------->8---- The Balance Sheet: This is how much each player got paid at the end of the game.
