I have received over half a dozen warnings over the years, none of which informed me of what exactly I had allegedly done to earn them (although in most cases the timing indicated disgruntled adversaries resorting to skullduggery in lieu of wit). My old mitmosnar nym racked up the bulk of them, but was never nuked. I have had one account nuked, and that one received no warning or explanation at all. The comment that appears to have caused the nuking was one my wiseacre wife posted wherein she mocked the M'OG PJ outing by suggesting that JVM "has a copy of Journey to Ixtlan in his back seat". Oddly, the rest of the thread remained, although the whole thing was devoted to listing JVM's many "crimes", such as taking more than 12 items to the express aisle

The contents of the board are archived in several places, so no material would be lost. If this stops working, we've got places to go. For example scoxe.com or groklaw. We have media contacts, so we can generate plenty of bad publicity for SCOX. Most importantly, if individuals were banned, it would reinvigorate the group. Lately we've spent a fair amount of time in troll land, because SCOX is not producing much news. If SCOX took an offensive action, the defensive reaction would refocus us in ways that SCOX would not like. ------------------------------------------------------------ The text of this Yahoo M

OT: Yahoo and censorship

I created a nym over there, named gtw_is_a_non_profit, and volunteered to have myself reported to the SEC, for quoting complete extracts from Gateway SEC filings. Of course, none of the shills actually bothered to do it. I tried logging in over there today, and I couldn't. No idea why, either... so I find a number for Yahoo, call them up, get an actual human (in New Delhi, most likely, but still, an actual person to talk to), and find out my account had been nuked, for TOS violations; none of which he could actually tell me about, but it was nuked. This makes me winder - if they are so easy to cave in on these req

Here's the breakneck schedule: LA: May 2nd, Dave & Buster's, Orange, CA Chicago: May 4th, Dave & Buster's, Addison, IL. NYC: May 9th, Dave & Buster's, Times Square Atlanta: May 10th, Dave & Buster's, Duluth, GA. Orlando May 11th, Residence Inn @ SeaWorld Toronto: May 18th, Dave & Buster's, Vaughan, Ont. I don't know about you, but looking over the venue list, I see a pattern developing. They'll be "exhibiting" at a few tradeshows this year, which is Big News apparently. >> DTR Conference, MySQL Users Conference, the National Association of Broadcasters Conference (NAB), Open Systems Partners in Profit Conference, and BASIS Tech Conference 2006. << Several of these seemed rather obscure, so I did a little digging: * The DTR Conference is coming up in 2 weeks, at the Luxor casino in Vegas. DTR is one of SCO's longtime partners from the OldSCO era, and this is just a little show for their partners and resellers. http://www.dtrbus.com/news.html The conference agenda indicates that much of it is going to be about SCO products, and also suggests the conference will be rather small. You have your choice between a SCO-centric track and a Vista-centric track. Eegah! ht

Any tard who wants to can click the 'report abuse' link, resulting in you receiving the automated letter that you got. On the other hand, the one account I had that got nuked (onelinepostguy) disappeared with no such warning. Just *woosh*, and there it was, gone. Hilariously, the post that got the account nuked appears to have been one written by my mischievous wife, who has occasionally posted using my accounts to amuse and annoy me. It was a thread in which people were listing mundane 'crimes' of JVM, such as 'wears socks with sandals'. Imitating M'OG's outing of PJ, she wrote that he 'has a copy of Journey to Ixtlan on his back seat'. The next thing you know, the account and all of its posts disappeared. I have
