I've got him plonked, but the hallmarks of his arrival are here.
These instructions were intercepted earlier this morning:
You don't want to be raising the bar too high. Remember, you've got several hours to lay bait and deluge the board with retarded responses to the various rebukes and people who think you are actually arguing with them.
It's good to open with an obvious and pithy non sequitor with an annoying subject line, just to gather the low hanging fruit. From there, you can lay a few oblique and cryptic coilers laced with apparent sarcasm as responses to the first wave, which others are more likely to read and respond to. You can also bank on a couple of superstars to go for the cheap recs and post eloquent and entertaining flames if they detect the opportunity. This will breathe life into your thread, as others try their hand to share the thunder.
If you're not getting the real estate you wanted, it's good to contradict yourself, say something easily refuted, or use any number of obvious ploys like irrelevant links or ad hominem to reveal yourself as the heel you really are. This guarantees a flood of bemused, dismissive, irate, sanctimonious, indignant, etc responses. This also presents another golden opportunity for the heavy hitters to knock one out of the park with some serious flamage, giving birth to a whole new flood of would be flame meisters.
Make sure to keep the debaters happy with vague insinuations and smug posturing peppered with direct attacks at sacred cows. They will reverse engineer your gibberish into fodder for your next round of responses, having forcibly rationalized your f*ckery into what they think you're saying.
Choose the most verbose, the most passionate, and the most hungry for glory and hand them the paddle to beat you with, and they'll do the work for you.
