Well considering the long queues to enter things like "Pop Idol", "The X-Factor", even "Big Brother", because they "Just want to be famous", I don't think the record companies need to worry.>>
I've spent over half my life playing clubs and recording, and I've never met an actual musician who would be caught dead on an "Idol" program or anything resembling it.
I have, however, witnessed first hand the soul crushing destruction the industry wages upon us. Brutal doesn't begin to describe it.
Who needs these bloodsucking wraiths anymore?
If you give a rat's ass about music, support independent musicians! Go see *live* music! Buy independent CDs. Hell, make your own - if it's any good, I'll buy it. I guarantee it'll be better than the dreck on the radio.
